About the Staff
Kollel Toras Chesed: Meeting The Challenge!

Rabbi Yakov Kreisman joined the Kollel in 1997 and is from St. Louis, Missouri.  During his many years of learning in Yeshivas Chayim Berlin, he developed a very close association with its Rosh Yeshiva, HaRav Aharon Schechter. He recently settled in the Devonshire section of Skokie, where he conducts the shalosh sheudas discussions between mincha and maariv. This is part of the Devonshire Shabbas Mincha program sponsored by Congregation Or Torah.  Rabbi Kreisman has also arranged chavrusas for Friday nights in his neighborhood.  He is a well-rounded, down to earth personality who has quickly drawn a strong following in town. His chavrusas are conducted both in and out of the Kollel, often at the places of employment of many of his study partners.

Rabbi Kreisman's wife, Adina (formerly Meltzer), is from Far Rockaway, New York.  Her extensive knowledge is often on display while presenting contemporary issues in a non-confrontational manner. She has won the confidence of many of the community's women and offers a popular Tuesday evening class on the weekly parasha.
